In 1985, from a coffee row discussion, the graduates from the Saskatoon Tri-Hospitals yellow shirt program formed the Coronary Artery Rehabilitation Group. CARG Inc. is a self-help, volunteer, non-profit group dedicated to promoting a healthy life style for persons with cardiac problems, with the help of cardiac specialists. We volunteer to share our experiences so that we may all benefit and continue to make healthy lifestyle choices. CARG offers its members group support and fellowship, an opportunity to participate in a supervised exercise program, and continuing educational and supportive events. The affairs of the membership are managed by an Executive Committee, which is elected by the CARG membership at each annual general meeting.
Exercise Schedule (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays - year round) Saskatoon Field House is open to CARG members and their support persons from 6:30 AM till 11:30 AM every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The building is also open in the evenings of these days from 7:00 PM till 8:30 PM. A physician is available in the mornings only. CARG exercise staff are present at these times. During the supervised exercise program, CARG members may join any exercise sessions or walk, row, or cycle. This has now been extended on a trial basis to include Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please phone the Field House before coming. The costs of walking and membership are kept to a minimum so that as many as possible may take advantage of this unique program. All amounts collected are used to cover the cost of the exercise program, supervision and instruction, Field House rental, equipment purchase and maintenance, a newsletter, and various social and educational events. CARG fees are due the first week of each month but may be paid for several months in advance or for the entire year. Payments of three months or more in advance are appreciated. Fees consist of: $10.00
for an annual membership fee Each
support person must pay a $25.00 exercise fee per month. For more
