Coronary Artery Rehabilitation Group Inc. (CARG)

A non-profit, voluntary organization made up of persons who have experienced a heart event. These members, together with their spouses and support persons, make up the total membership of CARG

CARG aims to:

  • Offer to patients and their families "support before, solace during, and encouragement after" a heart event through hospital and home visits by CARG volunteers
  • Provide continuing support and encouragement to attend exercise programs, educational classes, social events and other activities
  • And foster a close relationship between CARG and the Saskatoon Health Region and its LiveWell Cardiac Program

About CARG

CARG evolved in 1985 from the graduates of the Saskatoon Tri-Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. CARG was incorporated in 1995 as a non-profit organization in the Province of Saskatchewan and received a charitable organization status from Canada Customs and Revenue Agency in 1999. CARG offers its members group support and fellowship, an opportunity to participate in an exercise program supervised by qualified staff of the Saskatoon Health Region, and continuing education and social events. The membership of CARG is more than 700 members and continues to grow
